My name is Josh Coe (candidate number 2055) and I am an AS media studies student. I decieded to study media at A-level because it was something I always wanted to do at GCSE but never did. I've really enjoyed it at A-level and feel like I could pursue a career in media in the future.

This website is my evaluation for the opening title sequence I created. I worked with Matthew Levesley and Heather McDonald to create the opening title sequence (their blogs as well as mine can be assessed to the left). We each were in charge of different aspects of the piece. As a group, we are members of a team called Rabbit Hole Productions, which we came up with ourselves. The OTS is called 'The Secret', and is based completely on a Film Noir, although it actually turned out to be a Neo Noir because of the age of the actors. Having said this, the piece contains a variation of different things that relate to the conventions of a Film Noir. Our final version of the OTS can be seen on the homepage.

About me:

This is the continuity task that we did as a practise for our final piece. For this, I worked with Matthew Levesley, Heather McDonald, Jack Grimshaw and Niamh Gallagher. We learnt a lot from doing this task, which helped us develop our final piece to be better. One of the main things we learnt from this was the difficulty of working in a group of five, which is why for the final OTS we split this group in half so that Jack worked with Niamh, and I worked with Heather and Matthew. We also learnt about the importance of planning, and this helped us massivly for our final piece. This task also gave me some experience with filming and editing, because being new to media studies meant I didn't really have much experience with these things, so as a whole the continuity task was extremely useful for me and all of my group.
